Convocation 2024

For me, these photos are more than just photos of an annual tradition in academia. These are pictures of people who I enjoy having the opportunity to work with. This is an opportunity to make them feel appreciated for the roles they play as educators/administrators/leaders, the impact they make on students' lives, and for simply being genuinely kind human beings. In regards to myself, these photos represent progress. A year ago (even a few months ago), I would never have been able to get photos like this. The lighting in this room is difficult to work with. The auto setting on a camera simply cannot compensate for the difficulty of the environment. I am so proud of these photos. I am proud of how they turned out and the skills, trials, and errors required to learn how to capture these moments. Beyond that, I am excited to see what I will be able to achieve with another year's practice.
